Ground Service Equipment Specialist

Purpose of Position:

To provide technical and administrative support to the Ground Service Equipment (GSE) department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setup and maintain all aspects of the GSE Maintenance Information System (TRAX).
  • Maintain certification and inspection records for nationwide GSE equipment IAW Jazz Policy and Procedures.
  • Monitor maintenance program compliance utilizing Maintenance Information System, TRAX Planning Query.
  • Follow-up with ground handlers to ensure maintenance program execution.
  • Monitor vendor invoicing for technical accuracy and capture compliance and maintenance history in TRAX.
  • Analyze TRAX defect data for warranty, applicable OEM SB's or internal product improvement.
  • Assist station requests, plan, assign, and prioritize work for GSE under direction of manager.
  • Assist with coordination of GSE relocation to best support the operation.
  • Solicit equipment parts and repair quotes, maintain accurate records, analyzes business needs and recommends solutions to ensure cost benefit.
  • Assist in the management and execution of vendor contracts/quotes.
  • Coordinate New Vendor Setup per company policy and procedure.
  • Insurance card control for Jazz GSE.
  • Registration renewal of plates for Jazz GSE.
  • Generate purchase and/or service orders as required through appropriate Jazz systems (TRAX or ARIBA).
  • Code, approve, and ensure accuracy of vendor invoices through appropriate Jazz systems (TRAX or ARIBA).
  • Monitor credit card purchases for GSE department.
  • Maintain payroll records for GSE union employees as per CAW contract and Jazz Policy and Procedures.
  • Coordinate with the other payroll staff as required.
  • Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co-workers and customers.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • The successful candidate must possess excellent communication and organizational skills and have the ability to prioritize, work well under pressure, and work as a team.
  • Automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanics license is preferred.
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in automotive, diesel or heavy equipment repair, or equivalent training/experience is required.
  • Experience Microsoft Office Suite with knowledge of Word and Excel is required.
  • Knowledge of software systems such as TRAX and/or ARIBA is considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
