- Design, implement, maintain, and support production infrastructure systems to ensure that capacity, integrity, and contingency plans are adhered to.
- Ensure that all documentation regarding the architecture and the technology solutions are maintained.
- Monitor and control infrastructure performance in the areas of response, throughput, availability, and security.
- Design and implement the necessary security procedures and policies to ensure corporate information and communication integrity.
- Provide Tier II/III troubleshooting to user community and IS Peers. Assist IS staff with problem identification and resolution.
- Review and analyze preliminary Disaster Recovery requirements and work with team members to identify restrictions or limitations.
- Facilitate the formulation of high level alternative strategies where appropriate to identify or suggest potential technical Disaster Recovery solutions.
- Prepare a Disaster Recovery strategy deployment plan and actively participate in management review sessions as required.
- Proactively research/locate the necessary tools, processes and technical solutions to manage and support IS Infrastructure operations.
- Review, assess and address user technology needs.
- Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving efficiency through the use of technology.
- Work with other departments to determine business requirements that meet IT standards, policies, and guidelines.
- Act as a technical expert and resource to others.
- Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co-workers and customers.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Technical degree/diploma or equivalent work experience required.
- Technical certifications such as ITIL Foundations, Microsoft MCSE, Citrix CCEA, VMware VCP, Linux LPI are considered assets.
- Proven Technical Experience at Problem Management and System Architecture (Enterprise Class with High Availability).
- 5 or more years working in an operational and geographically dispersed environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Enterprise Technologies and Operating Systems.
- Experience with Enterprise Server and Systems Architecture.
- Experience with Virtualization Technology.
- Experience with Citrix Presentation Server.
- Experience with Linux.
- Experience with Contingency planning with respect to 24x7 operationally critical systems.
- Ability to make concise and clear decisions.
- Good Written and Oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
