Location: Remote within Canada
Basic Purpose of Position:
Perform all administrative work and support for claims for medical leaves (occupational and non-occupational). Assist employees and departments with initiating and maintaining claims and return to work (modified and full). This position requires excellent attention to detail while also being sensitive to those clients faced with challenging health concerns.
Key Activities:
- Initiate and maintain claims process, including preparation of documents, contact with department and employee, contact with Insurer (Great West Life and Workers Compensation Boards) as required.
- Communicate with employees regarding claim process, benefits, pay and travel information.
- Coordinate forms such as employee leave notification forms to transition employees off and back on to payroll.
- Ensure that employees receive appropriate compensation during the leave transition.
- Transition files to Health Services team members.
- Maintain communication with Occupational Health Nurses/Case Managers regarding claims
- Process modified duty payroll sheets to payroll, WCB or insurer as required. This entails performing necessary calculations and auditing.
- Process and prepare inbound documentation for review by Health Services team members on electronic platform.
- Provide health and wellness articles for the weekly company newsletter.
- Organize annual flu clinics.
- Uphold strict confidentiality.
- Maintain records and documents in accordance with legislation and company policy.
- Other duties as required.
- Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co-workers and customers.
Qualifications:
- Bilingualism in English and French is a strong asset.
- A post-secondary education in Business Administration, Human Resources or Health Administration is required.
- Strong level of comfort with payroll-related calculations and auditing is required.
- At least 1 year of experience in one of the following disciplines: Health Administration, Disability Claims, Health/Social Services, Worker's Compensation, Benefits or Human Resource Administration is required.
- ASIST certification is an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is required.
- Strong communication and internal customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
