Service New Brunswick is seeking individuals for casual Payroll and Benefits Officer opportunities in Fredericton. Consideration will be given to remote work within parts of New Brunswick.
Reporting to the Payroll and Benefits Supervisor, the Payroll and Benefits Officer will be responsible to:
- Prepare and process various aspects of payroll on a biweekly basis while adhering to processing deadlines;
- Calculate pay adjustments according to the Collective Agreements and Management and Nonâ??Union Policies;
- Verification and reconciliation of biweekly payrolls to ensure accuracy of input in the Fusion payroll platform;
- Communicate with departments and outside agencies, including responding to inquiries from employees by phone and/or in writing; and
- Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION High School diploma supplemented by the successful completion of a post-secondary certificate in a related field with a minimum of four (4) years of experience in the compensation and benefits administration, customer service, financial field, and/or accounting field. Proficient knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, Outlook). Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered, or the required years of experience may be increased:

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate the following asset qualifications:
- Professional designation from the Canadian Payroll Association
- Experience using an ERP system (i.e. Oracle Fusion or other)
- Experience in accounting, finance, and/or payroll
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The following operational requirement is also required:
- Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.

LINGUISTIC COMPETENCES: The successful candidate shall have a 2+ competencies in both official languages.

Hourly rate: $25.04 to $30.41 - Administrative services level 4 - Administrative assistants, clerical and regulatory clerks and office, computer and photocopying equipment clerks.
