Position Overview
APEX is currently accepting applications for a Manual Machinist within its Custom Contract Manufacturing Group. This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Shift Supervisor.
The primary role of this position is to set up, operate, and maintain manual machining equipment. Some overtime may be required, and training will be provided.
Responsibilities
Set-up and operate manual milling machines.
Strong understanding of machine processes, materials, and tooling.
Operate hand tools and precision measuring devices (wrenches, impacts, calipers).
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
Maintain production schedules.
Recognize and communicate areas to improve.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Ability to lift and handle heavy materials as required by the job.
Comply with all company policies.
Work well independently and in a team environment.
Requirements
A college diploma in Manual Machining or equivalent work experience will be considered.
Must have experience in machining of weldments.
Must have a strong knowledge of GD and T.
CNC machining experience considered an asset.
Crane and rigging experience.
A mechanical and mathematical ability.
Strong teamwork values.
Must be cooperative, willing to share knowledge, mentor others and take on additional responsibilities as required.
