About the Role

Pump House Brewery is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this important role, you will assist the Lead Accountant in managing the company's financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the brewery's continued growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to develop their skills and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, growing company within the craft beer industry. You will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, managing accounts, and contributing to the overall financial health of the brewery. You will work closely with the Lead Accountant and collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations across the organization.

Job Responsiblities

  • This position is responsible for the day-to-day accounting and cash management of Pump House Brewery and Brewpubs
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of the accounting systems
  • Help lead accounting team members and oversee invoicing, collections and payments ensuring timely processing of accounts payable.
  • Reconcile bank accounts on a daily/monthly basis
  • Work with Lead Accountant on month end closing and inventory management
  • Assist with the development of the forecasting model to meet the needs of the leadership team
  • Prepare various reports for CRA, WorkSafe NB, Encorp and Liquor Boards
  • Assist in year end with Lead Accountant
  • Assist with Government Funding applications and management
  • Work with other departments as necessary to provide information and/or assist with investigations
  • Help the Lead Accountant with payroll when necessary
  • Assist Lead Accountant with various projects and financial model preparation and maintenance when necessary
  • Identify potential internal control and financial reporting issues and recommend solutions and improvements when appropriate
  • Additional duties as require

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree with a focus in accounting is preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience, preferable in a manufacturing environment
  • Payroll experience considered an asset
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (advanced Excel an asset)
  • Knowledge of Quick Books and Sage 50
  • Good understanding of GAAP
  • Strong attention to details
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle issues in a diplomatic and positive manner
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of the business
