Not only is the department responsible for managing over 18,000 kilometers of provincial highways, it also manages the planning, design and construction of hospitals, schools and other government buildings.
What you will do
As the Director of Finance and Administration, you will lead a dynamic team responsible for ensuring the financial integrity, operational efficiency, and administrative excellence of the Finance and Administration Branch. You will play a key role in developing and implementing financial strategies, managing budgets, and overseeing administrative operations to support organizational objectives.
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, you will be responsible for the following responsibilities:
- providing leadership and strategic direction in the areas of financial analysis, audit function, budget coordination, financial monitoring and reporting, and departmental accounting;
- collaborate with senior management and program managers and provide strategic financial advice and recommendations;
- integrating the financial objectives with the Departmentâ??s policy and program priorities and initiatives;
- support ERP by being a change agent and ensuring support as needed during implementation of various releases;
- Lead and mentor a team of finance and administrative professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

- Standard hours of work: Monday â?? Friday.

- Some travel within the province will be required.

Essential Qualifications:
University Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field with a minimum of nine years of progressive leadership experience and financial management and administration experience.
Progressively related and responsible experience includes:
- six years of progressive management experience for the direction and management of large and diverse teams;
- demonstrated experience in budget development, financial analysis, and strategic planning;
- demonstrated leadership and effective relationship management capability with a variety of clients and stakeholders;
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; and
- Valid Class 5 driverâ??s license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Asset Qualifications :
Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following asset(s):
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation;
- demonstrated experience working in a government setting and environment.

SALARY:
Pay Band 9: $4,572.00 to $5,032.00 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week.
