Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager within the Control & Governance organization focusing on Operational Excellence to join our global team to lead the maturity of a highly complex and diverse governance and control function. This critical role will be integral to bring an operational mindset across discrete services that form the foundation for a Global Risk and Compliance organization by putting controls at center of all that we deliver. A key focus on process and documentation will be needed to ensure a high-level of quality is achieved.

The ideal candidate will lead with deep expertise in regulatory compliance, business and technical control design and testing methodologies, and risk management within a complex, global banking environment. This individual will be responsible for working with and influencing leaders for discrete services within the Global Risk and Compliance organization to achieve an optimized model.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of operational excellence initiatives within the Global Risk and Compliance function, ensuring alignment with the bank's overall business strategy and risk management objectives

  • Identify and analyze inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process improvement within the shared services model

  • Develop and implement strategies for optimizing workflows, reducing operational risk, and improving service delivery

  • Provides specialized expertise and guidance on assessing risks, identifying potential gaps, and providing security solutions to mitigate risks and protect TD

  • Bring a focus on complete and accurate documentation overseeing controls and processes within the organization

  • Develop and maintain information security standards and procedures based on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational needs

  • Strategic advisor to leadership team on the management of the portfolio and financials, with deep industry, external/internal, and enterprise knowledge, recognizing and anticipating emerging trends, and identifying operational efficiencies and opportunities with other business management/enterprise areas

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness that regularly track, analyze, and report on performance, identifying trends and providing actionable insights for continuous improvement

  • Drive change management efforts, ensuring successful adoption of new processes, controls, and documentation aimed at improving operational efficiency and effectiveness

  • Ensure that all operational improvements align with global regulatory requirements and internal risk management protocols

  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion

  • May participate in or leads various projects / division initiatives as needed

  • Strong presentation skills when delivering training and presentation at the division level, industry conferences, workshops, etc

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, accounting designations, or equivalent education required

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in operations excellence, process optimization, or a similar leadership role within a global financial institution, with a focus on risk and compliance

  • Deep understanding of shared services models, operational excellence frameworks, and best practices in process improvement (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)

  • Exceptional ability to analyze complex operational challenges and develop strategic, data-driven solutions

  • Strong operational mindset with focus on comprehensive documentation, controls, and processes

  • Proficient in using operational and performance metrics to drive decision-making

  • Knowledge of audit standards, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations

  • Knowledge of risk management environment, standards, regulations, and mitigation

  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas and insights clearly and persuasively to senior executives

  • Experience in leading large-scale change initiatives and driving the adoption of new processes or technologies in a global, highly regulated environment
