Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Practice Support, the Digital Health Training Specialist primary responsibility will be to facilitate, train and support physicians in the seamless adoption and effective use of technologies, including Electronic Medical Systems (EMR) systems, within their medical practices. This role plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth transition from a traditional paper-based system to electronic records or shifting between EMR's with the goal to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities

- assist in conducting thorough assessments of physicians' current workflows, processes, and requirements to tailor technical and EMR implementation strategies
- help to develop detailed implementation plans outlining key milestones, timelines, and resource requirements for physician groups
- deliver in-person and online training of various EMR software and digital health technologies on an ongoing basis
- collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to coordinate necessary resources and support
- install, configure and troubleshoot hardware and software components to ensure usability
- in collaboration with the broader team, assist in the designing and delivery of training programs customized to physicians' specific needs, ensuring comprehensive understanding of EMR functionalities
- assist with effective change management strategies to minimize resistance and encourage a positive attitude towards EMR adoption and effective use
- develop and implement technical procedures that are effective in quickly addressing physicians' technical problems and minimizing downtime
- oversee the smooth transfer of data from existing systems to the new EMR platform, ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards
- coordinate integration with other healthcare systems and technologies
- monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of EMR implementation, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures
- conduct regular assessments to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and industry standards
- maintain comprehensive documentation of the EMR implementation process, including training materials, troubleshooting guides, and progress reports
- communicate regularly with physicians, practice staff, and relevant stakeholders to provide updates on implementation progress and address any concerns.
Position Location and Hours of Work
This position ideally will be located in Fredericton, however for the right candidate, it can be remote elsewhere in NB. You may be required to work beyond the normal business hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. to accommodate client needs. However, after-work commitments are usually predictable and planned well in advance.
Flexible to travel within the province of New Brunswick and maintain a valid driver's license.
Education/Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in a related field
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- strong proficiency in English, French as an asset
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- experience using EMR software
- ability to adapt to evolving technologies and industry standards
- in-depth knowledge of how an EMR functions
- experience in workflow analysis and process improvement
- skilled in Microsoft Office
- valid driver's license
