DIGITAL MARKETING COORDINATOR AND CONTENT CREATOR

As a regional, bilingual cultural centre, the Capitol Theatre, a not-for-profit charitable organization, is committed to promoting all arts disciplines and to present local, regional, national and international artists on our stages for the enjoyment of our patrons.

We also feature our own presentations program and produce an annual professional Broadway musical. We host about 150 to 180 performances or events each year. Key Activities

As the Digital Marketing Coordinator and Content Creator you will be instrumental in the tactical execution of digital and social marketing plans designed to enhance exposure and maximize revenue for the Capitol Theatre's presents program, the annual musical and in support of our rental clients and the Theatre Academy's programs. You'll work closely with the Director of Communications, our marketing data analyst, and our programming staff to achieve specific marketing objectives, analyze results to generate insights that can be used to calibrate our digital marketing campaigns.

You possess a mix of strong organizational skills combined with a creative mind that is always ready to experiment with ways to more effectively connect touring performing artists with our local market. In close collaboration with a cross functional team, you will implement a comprehensive lead generation and qualification program and our patron progression program to attract, convert and retain new patrons and members to the Capitol Theatre. This includes identifying, setting up and monitoring marketing automation processes to increase our capacity to tailor communications and monitor prospects' responses.

You will be adept at implementing the Capitol's visual branding as well as refine our brand voice in our social and digital media channels. As our inhouse content creator, you will create still photography and video and other content that engages our audiences and potential audiences online. You will manage and update our website content, e-mail marketing program, social media presence. Finally, you will design and manage our search marketing (Google Ads grant) and paid social media program and assess the results obtained to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of our digital marketing spend.

You will attend Capitol Theatre shows and events to connect with patrons, gather insights, create social media content, and foster relationships that enhance audience engagement. You will also assist in executing tasks for pre- and post-show activities to enrich audience experiences.

Finally, you are responsible to ensure that our digital marketing strategies will be closely coordinated with our traditional marketing channels to achieve the best results.

Skills required

• Post secondary diploma/degree in marketing, communications, design, writing or related discipline, or equivalent work experience;

• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a marketing or communications role;

• Fluency in both official languages is required;

• Excellent writing and editing skills in both English and French, including ability to create and edit copy for promotional emails, collateral materials, social media posts and web content;

• Excellent photography and video production skills to develop content for social media;

• Strong ability to communicate verbally and excellent interpersonal skills;

• Experience in marketing or communication campaign execution and analysis

• Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities, adapt to various roles as needed, and prioritize tasks effectively in a demanding environment;

• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking;

• Experience managing campaign expenses

• Demonstrate initiative and sound judgment;

• Proficiency in using MS Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok; as well as email marketing programs

• Experience with or ability to learn and adapt to a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for campaign execution

• Proficiency in creating and editing photography and video content

• Familiarity with, and an interest in the performing arts would be an asset.
