Looking to make the most of your pharmacy skills? Then join our team of health care business professionals. Applications are invited for the position of Manager, Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM).
As our PBM lead, you will play a key role within the organization evolving our Drug Solutions value proposition. Working closely with professional peers, you will be responsible for the evolution of our PBM; with oversight of our product development and lifecycle maintenance, formulary management, and member supports; while supporting the development and delivery of our Drug Solution programs.
As an experienced transformational leader, you will coach, mentor and provide direction, empowerment and effective leadership to a highly-talented team located in Montreal, QC, Moncton, NB, and Etobicoke, ON. You will guide the team to greater success through operational accountability, innovation and a commitment to MBC's values and mission. Leveraging your pharmacy management knowledge, you will exhibit thought leadership, advocating for policy positions impacting the PBM industry with our stakeholders and partners.
Key Responsabilities
- Leadership, growth and development of the Pharmacy Benefit Management Team; managing a team of professionals responsible for end-to-end product performance and maintenance.
- Ownership and oversight of the Medavie Blue Cross PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Manager); including but not limited to accountability for aligned formulary maintenance and plan management features / controls.
- Execution of the Drug Solutions product strategy; including the maintenance and evolution of Medavie Blue Cross's pharmacy product offerings to address our competitive positioning in the market.
- Leading projects related to pharmacy and pharmaceutical services and participating on cross departmental projects requiring subject matter expertise;
- Provide subject matter expertise, support and guidance to the Medavie BC PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Manager) team including processes and protocols reflecting the co-ordination and maintenance of Medavie Blue Cross' formulary and plan management features, POS system initiatives, and product performance.
- Accountability for Medavie Blue Cross' Pharmacy relationships, pricing agreements and our Preferred Pharmacy Network partnerships.
Qualifications
- A university education, preferably in science or business. A degree in pharmacy, healthcare practitioner and/or MBA is considered an asset
- Five to seven years of drug benefits, pharmacy systems or PBM industry experience, including management experience in this or a related field.
- Ability to build effective relationships, with both internal and external stakeholders and thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can prove your exceptional organization and prioritization capabilities;
- Strong business and financial acumen and the proven ability to quickly learn, navigate and lead complex operations and service contracts in a Pharmacy Benefit Management environment;
- Demonstrated experience in developing strategies and a roadmap for implementing initiatives;
- Nurture and develop professional teams and inspire, motivate and engage staff to provide consistent high levels of quality service;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, negotiation skills;
- Computer Skills: Possess strong computer skills and aptitude.
- Language Skills: Bilingualism is considered an asset
