Business Banking Finance supports the development and achievement of the "Quest" – the journey to being the #1 Business Bank in Canada – by providing proactive analysis, expertise and advice to our partners relating to all financial matters.
Job Description
The Senior Finance Analyst, Business Banking Finance reports to the Senior Group Manager, Business Banking Finance, and works on a talented and diverse team of professionals to provide insightful analysis, management reporting, and financial forecasting for Canadian Business Banking, which encompasses Commercial Banking, Small Business Banking, Auto Finance and Merchant Solutions.
Specific tasks include:
- Contributing to the overall management reporting and forecasting/planning processes with a focus on expenses, FTE and PCL for segments of Canadian Business Banking
- Being the subject matter expert on expenses for the business, leading expense forecast discussions with business partners, and ensuring timely delivery of value-add monthly reporting and forecast materials
- Participating in the development, implementation, and maintenance of financial models and methodologies, reporting dashboards, and frameworks to support ongoing reporting, forecasting and ad-hoc needs
- Conducting ad-hoc analysis to identify potential expense opportunities and risks, and offer well supported recommendations and challenge to the business; contributing to decision-making support on key projects and initiatives
- Developing and maintaining deep relationships with key business partners and other stakeholders across Canadian Business Banking Finance, CAD Personal & Commercial Finance, Financial Operations, and Risk Management
- Maintaining industry, external and internal business awareness, recognizing and anticipating trends, identifying issues and opportunities, and recommending actions
- Contributing to a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, productivity, innovation, creativity, analysis, and advice
Job Requirements
This position requires experience with management reporting and forecasting of expenses, strong business acumen and proven ability to build relationships with business partners. The chosen candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision, manage multiple tasks with varying deadlines, and contribute to a positive work environment.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
- Experience in management reporting/forecasting of expenses; a CPA/CFA designation would be an asset
- Experience/understanding of TD management reporting systems/data (Hyperion, OAC); familiarity with Tableau and Alteryx not required but would be an asset
- Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities – ability to consolidate a large amount of information into clear, concise analysis, and independently problem solve issues
- Build and maintain relationships and work effectively with a variety of stakeholders and partners across different parts and levels of the organization
- Highly motivated and able to work effectively on a team, manage multiple deliverables, and be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities in an environment with tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to independently identify, work through, and resolve issues
- Knowledge of the automotive industry and automotive lending not required but would be considered an asset
