The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Early Learning Consultant to join our dedicated Early Childhood Services team in the Anglophone North School District territory.

The Role:
Reporting to the Director of Early Childhood Services, the successful candidate will be an integral part of a team that provides pedagogical guidance, coaching and mentoring to early childhood educators and directors through individual on-site coaching, the establishment of communities of practice, and professional development workshops/learning opportunities aligned with the values, goals and principles of the New Brunswick Early Learning and Child Care Curriculum Framework.

What you will do:

  • Assess curricular practices using the Collaborative Assessment Tool -Validation (CAT-V.) to support annual quality improvement plans related to curriculum implementation and sustainability
  • Collect and collate relevant data to support the objectives of the Professional Learning Strategy
  • Coach and mentor early childhood professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and self-awareness, helping educators and administrators refine their skills and engage in reflective practices
  • Collaborate with the Early Learning Specialist to co-construct, plan and modify professional learning modules and workshops that align with the curriculum framework, based on feedback from the early learning and childcare sector

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

Need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field such as Psychology or Education.
  • Minimum of four (4) years experience in the field of early childhood development
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
  • Extensive knowledge of Early Learning and Child Care Curriculum Frameworkwith practical experience in its application
  • Experience in facilitating group meetings and trainings both virtually and in-person, as well as coaching individuals
  • Ability to adapt quickly, provide exceptional customer service, and collaborate effectively with team members and community partners
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality service within the values of the New Brunswick Public Service

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working in a licensed early learning and childcare facility as an early childhood educator
  • Coaching and mentoring experience with adult learners
  • Familiarity with technology tools that facilitate communication and collaboration in a virtual or hybrid environment
  • Knowledge of developmental or curriculum theory

Wage:
Pay Band 4: $56,758 ¿ $79,378 annually

Work environment:

  • Office location: Within Anglophone School District North boundaries
  • Standard hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; evening and weekend work required (occasionally)
  • Travel within the Province
