What you will do

Reporting to the Director of Financial Services, Information Management and Technology, as a member of the Information Management team, the successful candidate will provide Records and Information management-related subject matter expertise in relation to diverse program areas within the Department.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the Department Records and Information Management program
  • Developing, implementing, and providing departmental staff with training, support, and advisory services in Information Management
  • Overseeing the enterprise content management software environment
  • Developing and implementing policies, procedures, guidelines, and tools, with the respect to the appropriate management of records and information in all media and formats
  • Developing and implementing records and information strategies, plans and business cases, classification schemes, retention schedules and a disaster recovery plan
  • Advising and assisting ongoing improvements to key performance measures for Records and Information Management-related services
  • Participating in the development and implementation of a new information technology system
  • Leading the electronic content management within the department and the preservation of electronic records
  • Ensuring compliance with all provincial and departmental records and information policies, legal and operational obligations

Work Environment

  • Office location: Marysville Place, 20 McGloin Street, Fredericton
  • Standard hours of work: Monday-Friday, 8:15 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

Need to have

  • University degree in the area of Library and Information Studies, Information Management, Archival Science, Information Technology or a related degree (Business, Arts, Applied Arts) and Six (6) years related work experience, of which two (2) years is in a supervisory capacity
  • OR a two (2) year post-secondary diploma in a related field with major course work in records/document management or information technology and a minimum of eight (8) years related work experience, of which two (2) years is in a supervisory capacity
  • OR a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of ten (10) years related work experience in records/document management or information technology, of which two (2) years is in a supervisory capacity
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
  • Written and spoken competence in English and French is required

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The following operational requirement(s) is also required:

  • This position may require some travel within the province.

Nice to have

  • Experience in RIM Managerial/Supervisory
  • Experience working with SharePoint
  • Experience working with OpenText Content Manager
  • Certifications in Records Management

Wage

$2,183.00 to $3,053.00 bi-weekly (Pay Band 4)
