Service New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Energy Management Branch to provide energy management services.
As a member of the Energy Management team, you will contribute to a more sustainable future for New Brunswick by supporting actions in the NB Climate Change Action Plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in government owned buildings. You will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of comprehensive energy management plans for buildings or facilities owned or operated by the Province of New Brunswick including schools, healthcare facilities and other public buildings. Key responsibilities of this position are:
- Lead, support and oversee the development and implementation of energy management plan for assigned client groups. Using web-based real time energy monitoring and reporting systems to identify anomalies and monitor Utilize web-based real-time energy monitoring/reporting systems and building management systems to identify anomalies, monitor trends in energy consumption, and assess performance indicators.
- Provide technical support and prepare feasibility and business cases to address opportunities for improved energy efficiency. Identify propose and support operational improvements through continuous improvement and by exploring new technologies, tools and energy efficiency measures.
- Lead and support energy management projects, initiatives, and processes aligned with GNB's energy management mandate and objectives.
- Identify and lead information sharing, best practices and professional development opportunities across client groups and government.
- Liaison with stakeholders both internal and external to government.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Engineer 3: A university degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and a minimum of eight (8) years of related experience, including some experience in energy management, HVAC systems and building operations. Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick is also required. If there are no applicants with the above essential qualifications, we may consider applicants with the following qualifications and appoint at a lower classification.
Engineer 2: A university degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience. Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick is also required.
Engineer 1: A university degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Registration as a Member-in-Training with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick is also required.
Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English and French is an asset.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preferencemay be given to candidates who demonstrate they have training or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Certification in Energy Management (CEM)
- Proven ability to lead and deliver effective capacity building.
- Experience in fostering employee engagement and building strong relationships
- Building Management Systems
- Project management

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent travel throughout the province is required, and you must possess a valid driver's license.
- Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.

SALARY: Bi-weekly (based on a 36.25 hour work week)
Engineer 3: $ 2840.95 - $ 3888.52 bi-weekly ¿ Engineer 3 - Agriculture, Veterinary, Engineering, Land Surveying and Architecture.
Engineer 2: $ 2658.78 - $ 3552.34 bi-weekly ¿ Engineer 2 - Agriculture, Veterinary, Engineering, Land Surveying and Architecture.
Engineer 1: $2117.09 - $2897.85 bi-weekly¿ Engineer 1 - Agriculture, Veterinary, Engineering, Land Surveying and Architecture.
