Role Description
As the Director of Engineering, you will play a key leadership role, working closely with the Vice-President, Atlantic Canada, to drive business development and lead the strategic growth of operations across the Atlantic regions. Leveraging your technical expertise and leadership abilities, you will oversee multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions, ensuring excellence in project execution and client satisfaction. Additionally, you will actively contribute to business development initiatives, strengthening client relationships, and identifying new opportunities to expand RVA's reach.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for engineering operations across the Atlantic regions, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Partner with the Vice-President to develop and execute business development strategies, driving growth and elevating RVA's profile in the region.
- Oversee a portfolio of engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Manage client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring satisfaction through open communication and exceptional service.
- Guide multidisciplinary teams in the design, development, and implementation of civil engineering projects, including site development, road infrastructure, and municipal systems.
- Lead initiatives to recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a positive and engaging work environment.
- Participate in the preparation of proposals, reports, tender documents, and technical reviews, contributing your expertise to the success of each project.
- Serve as a key decision-maker, providing input on organizational strategy, business development, and operational improvements.
Your Qualifications
As an accomplished engineer, you bring a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and business acumen. You have a proven track record of managing projects, leading teams, and driving business growth.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
- 12+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering, including project management, people management, and business development.
- Strong leadership abilities, with a history of mentoring and developing multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven success in business development, including client relationship management and identifying growth opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present reports, proposals, and technical documents.
