What you will do The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking an individual to join the Saint John District as a Maintenance Repairworker II working with the Sussex Bridge Crew. As Maintenance Repairworker II, you will work under the direction of the Bridge Superintendent and be responsible for:
  • performing maintenance and repair work in the building, mechanical, plumbing, electrical and painting occupations;
  • supervising staff carrying out the maintenance duties;
  • planning, inspecting, organizing, and performing general and preventative building maintenance on the departmental offices, building and material storage units;
  • occasional custodial duties;
  • coordinating and assisting trades people and contractors;
  • maintaining inventory and the maintenance shop;
  • preparing costs estimates.
Work environment:
  • Office location: Sussex
  • Work holidays, weekends, shift and/or variable hours.
  • May work in adverse road and weather conditions.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Graduation from high school or GED with a minimum of six (6) yearsâ?? work-related experience at the semiskilled level in the buildings, mechanical and/or electrical occupations.
  • A minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Valid Class 5 driverâ??s license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

SALARY: Maintenance Repairworker II: $26.74 per hour, based on a 40- hour week.
