The New Brunswick Housing Corporation (NBHC) is currently seeking ambitious and skilled Engineers to join the recently renewed and restructured NBHC.

NBHC is focused on working with all levels of government, community groups, organization, and the private sector to identify and maximize housing development opportunities while providing support through a housing strategy to positively impact New Brunswickers.

The Facilities Division of NBHC includes two distinct units that are integral to fulfilling the corporation's mandate and achieving the goals articulated in New Brunswick's Housing Strategy. These are the Building Management Branch, and the Construction and Modernization Branch.

As a member of the Construction and Modernization Branch, you will report to the Senior Project Engineer. You will be responsible for project management across a diverse range of new construction and major renovation projects. Specific duties include:

  • Development and control of project budgets and schedules.
  • Effectively control project scope to ensure project deliverables are met;
  • Collaborate and liaise with various levels of government entities and internal departments;
  • Engage and supervise private sector consultants and contractors to ensure project objectives are achieved;
  • Provide comprehensive supervision and control of projects throughout all project phases including: planning, design, tendering, contract award, and construction.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Engineer 2: University degree in Engineering. Minimum five (5) years of related experience in building design or construction projects and be registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGNB.
  • Engineer 1: University degree in Engineering. Candidate must be eligible for Engineering in Training designation with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick (APEGNB).
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English AND French is required for some vacancies while other vacancies require written and spoken competence in English. Please state your language capability.

SALARY:
Engineer 2: $2,658.78 to $3,552.34 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week.
Engineer 1: $2,117.09 to $2,897.85 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Office location: 551 King Street, Fredericton.

*Other office locations within NB can be considered if operational requirements permit

  • Standard hours of work: Monday ¿ Friday 8:15 am ¿ 4:30 pm.
