What you will be doing…
- Reporting on campus to the Manager of Student Services and functionally to the Director of Libraries & Learning Commons, you will play a key role in the coordination, delivery and promotion of services and events offered in the Library and Learning Commons.
- This work includes supporting students with technology; providing guidance and support in accessing and using learning support; making referrals to internal and external resources; and collecting and recording service delivery data.
- As part of the Testing Centre staff, you will be responsible for the administration of the Testing Centre including the invigilation of internal and external testing, consulting with faculty on testing requirements, and ensuring academic and testing policies and protocols are followed.
- You will liaise with Student Accessibility Specialists on approved test accommodation and the assistive technology needs of students with disabilities.
- Working with the Manager of Student Services you will also support campus events, activities, and initiatives such as Get Started, orientation, convocation, and Open House.
- This position may require some evening and Saturday hours.
Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
- The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary diploma in an area related to Adult Education, Education, Technology, Administrative and Business Services, Social Services or Library Technician.
- You have a minimum of two years (full time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience.
- You have occupational experience working in a post-secondary institution or with adult learners.
- Experience working in a test environment is considered an asset.
- Experience working with students with disabilities is considered an asset.
- You have strong demonstrated computer literacy skills including Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams, E-mail, and Assistive Technology, such as text-to-speech software.
- Experience with PeopleSoft, Brightspace, EnCampus, and testing platforms would be an asset.
- You will be required and supported to acquire and maintain Test Administrator certifications as required by testing partners.
- You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work.
- You have experience troubleshooting technology including computer hardware, software, printers, and photocopiers.
