Are you ready to kickstart your career in audit and risk management? Atlantic Lottery (AL) is looking for a motivated Junior Audit & Risk Professional to join our Internal Audit Department. In this role, you'll assist the organization in achieving its objectives by providing independent, objective assurance and advisory services to Management and the Audit Committee. You'll support the execution of the annual audit plan and ensure that AL's system of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes are operating effectively and efficiently. Additionally, you'll provide support and back-up for the Draw Audit functions.

Audit Planning: Contribute to improving risk management and control systems by identifying and evaluating significant risk exposures through audit work programs and testing.
Audit Fieldwork: Gather audit evidence, perform audit sampling, and prepare working papers and supporting documentation to demonstrate the results of audit procedures. Examine and analyze documents to verify the accuracy of computations and the uniform application of policies, procedures, and acceptable standards. Assess the efficiency, effectiveness, and/or compliance of business processes and recommend opportunities for improvement.
Audit Reporting: Present opinions on significant issues to management and promote change where necessary. Report and recommend changes and process improvements as a result of consulting with and advising the business channels and divisions.
Other Audit Activities: Generate and distribute audit communications related to outstanding audit findings and incorporate updates from management into the records. Provide back-up for Draws Audit function. Perform ad hoc special assignments as requested by Internal Audit or Senior Management, including (but not limited to) investigations and divisional initiatives such as process improvement initiatives.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and/or Diploma in Business or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional designation (e.g., CIA, CISA, or CFE) or a willingness to pursue would be considered an asset.
- Ideally 2+ years of progressive responsibility in a business environment, with a focus on audit preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint & Word).
- Must be 19 years of age or older to apply
- Must reside in Atlantic Canada

- Well-developed decision-making skills to arrive at valid conclusions/actions.
- Understanding and application of current internal auditing and risk assessment tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with professional standards, regulatory guidelines, and internal policies.
- Critical thinking skills to anticipate events, problems, and opportunities, and to develop, communicate, and support independent views on significant issues.
- Solid understanding of management principles and strategies and the ability to evaluate business practices encountered.
- Enthusiasm for learning opportunities and ongoing professional development.
Assets:
- Gaming industry experience.

Salary Band: $48,552 - $72,828 - A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is $50,000 - $60,000 at the time of this posting. (Individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, market conditions, relevant experience, education, training and internal equity).
Work Location: Office or Hybrid option working Moncton, NB
- Onboarding/Probation: Full-time in-office for the first 6 months preferred.
- After Probation: You can choose to either continue working full-time in the office or switch to a hybrid model, coming into the office 2-3 times a week.
