The Department of Health is seeking an Administrative Assistant to perform clerical and administrative work for the Public Health branch in Fredericton. We are looking for an energetic team player who takes initiative, displays problem-solving and decision making abilities, who has excellent organizational skills and who is able to maintain a positive, professional attitude in an evolving work environment.
As the Administrative Assistant you will:
- Prepare, format, track, edit, and proofread various documents in both official languages;
- Respond to telephone inquiries from the public, senior level officials, other Departments, and outside agencies;
- Prioritize and maintain a schedule of appointments, meetings, teleconferences, etc.;
- Provide support to various professionals as well as management;
- Verify, code, and process a variety of forms, invoices, and expense accounts;
- File and retrieve documents;
- Make travel arrangements;
- Perform various other related duties as required.

Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma, supplemented by the successful completion of a one-year post-secondary diploma in a related field and a minimum of three (3) years related experience to include experience in Microsoft Office Suite; or
- High school diploma, and a minimum of four (4) years of related experience to include experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability on your application.

Salary: $1,625 to $1,971 bi-weekly (ASL 3)
