Definition of work:
The Trades Worker III supervises and ensures that projects meet design and safety codes through providing guidance, instruction, direction, and leadership. This lead role will assist with team coordination, meeting shared organizational goals, ensuring compliance and clear communication of policies and procedures, mediating, and identifying concerns/training needs, and maintaining a safe work environment. In this position, the Trades Worker III is responsible for supervising and performing skilled work at the journeyperson level in the applicable trade, financial accountabilities including budgeting on a monthly basis with signing authority, overseeing the implementation and ongoing maintenance of software associated with the keying system, liaison between security and maintenance, Archibus requests, and orientation of staff. As a lead role within the facilities management team, the successful candidate will assign, oversee, follow up and coordinate work of other journeyperson trade workers and apprentices providing trade expertise, mentorship, coaching, designating work and work orders to appropriate personnel, participate in the repair and maintenance in the applicable trade and other related duties as required. Travel within the region to perform maintenance related duties may be required.

• Use of gross and fine motor skills; constant use of hand tools that require accurate control and steadiness and maintaining physical balance (e.g. ladders/scaffolding).

Required qualifications:
• Graduation from high school with a diploma recognized by the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
• Five (5) years of current experience in a mechanical trade.
• Successful completion of a valid third-Class Power Engineer's Certificate as issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
• Demonstrated knowledge of:
- Central Health's structures and policies.
- Computerized maintenance management system.
- Microsoft Office.
- Applicable codes, procedures, and legislation.
• Demonstrated strong time management, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to coordinate a range of related work and project activities.
• Demonstrated effective leadership, decision making, and supervisory skills.
• Ability to effectively mentor, coach, and motivate others.
• Valid Class V Driver's License issued by the province of Newfoundland and Labrador and a clear driver's abstract from Motor Vehicle Registration.

• A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
