BUSINESS ANALYST - I.T.
We are currently looking for a dynamic Business Analyst - I.T. at our St. John's Terminal. Reporting to the Vice-President, Finance, the incumbent will be analyzing business needs, identifying solutions, and ensuring that these solutions align with the organization's strategic goals. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, create detailed documentation, and support the implementation of solutions that drive business improvement. This position implies working in close relationship with all managers/senior management and IT.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Engage with stakeholders to understand and document business needs through interviews, surveys, and workshops, ensuring alignment between technical teams and business objectives.
- Analyze, prioritize, and document requirements, including creating detailed business requirement documents, use cases, process maps, and perform gap analyses.
- Recommend and evaluate solutions, such as software applications, system enhancements, or process changes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams during solution design, development, testing, and implementation, resolving issues as needed.
- Oversee solution implementation, assist in project planning, and monitor effectiveness, recommending improvements as necessary.
- Use data querying languages, BI Tools (e.g., SQL) and other modeling tools to assist users with development of reports, KPIs and other monitoring reports.
- Provide training and user support to ensure successful adoption of new systems or processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Support IT infrastructure tasks, including hardware troubleshooting and inventory management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- College / University degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data, and experience with data querying languages and BI Tools (e.g., SQL) can be beneficial.
- Deep knowledge and experience with Excel.
- Bilingualism (English and French) an asset.
