Reporting to the Director, Global Business Management, Global Fixed Income, you will have the opportunity to be accountable for Canadian Fixed Income Global Business Management.

Global Business Management – Mandate Overview

Empowered by a team of subject matter experts who act as desk level COOs, Global Business Management (GBM) supports our senior leaders in executing their strategic priorities to bring their strategic vision to life. We work closely with our assigned businesses, Technology, Operations, Finance, Compliance, Supervision, Risk and our DDI delivery teams to ensure the successful implementation of a wide range of business priorities. Efforts include working with our stakeholders to mitigate any issues that arise from normal BAU or Risk Mitigation requirements as we grow and globalize.

Reporting to the Director, Global Business Management, Global Fixed Income, you will represent the Managing Directors of Canadian Fixed Income with the accountability to enable smooth day-to-day business operations as well as partner in supporting the execution of business strategy and priorities. As an extension of these Managing Directors, you will act as a singular point of contact with the authority to lead strategic initiatives and provide a clear view on prioritization, working closely with multiple stakeholders to assess and acknowledge opportunities, challenges and competitive perspectives that serve to grow our business. Along with your Business Manager colleagues, your role enables the delivery of Global Markets' business priorities and the Dealer's strategic objectives.

Job Description

What you'll do….

  • Partner with senior business heads to understand and address critical business requirements, help define the regional strategies and drive and implement new business initiatives.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the business (e.g. products, front to back flows, revenues, costs, personnel, strategic plan, initiatives, etc.).
  • Play a key role in the in the strategic conception, ongoing development, and successful execution of the day-to-day tasks, working closely with all relevant stakeholders to ensure projects, initiatives, and processes address both immediate business needs as well as long-term strategic priorities.
  • Manage setting up the foundation for new business ideas and products, ensuring that required systems and processes are put in place.
  • Work with all stakeholders as a reliable point of contact with the requisite knowledge, expertise, and context to ensure desk-level and downstream priorities are well-aligned to Global Markets' and Dealer-level strategic/risk-mitigation/BAU ambitions.
  • Ensure both cash and P&L view (management reporting and Front Office flash) is understood and managed.
  • Manage and track all revenue and cost sharing agreements as well as expense allocations to the business.
  • Manage relationships with Technology, Operations, Compliance, Finance and Legal to drive efficiencies/change across the business.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks, adhering to regulatory and operational risk standards through completing deep-dives and ad-hoc projects as required.
  • Independent leadership of special projects while operating with a high degree of autonomy and accountability
  • Responsible for managing day to day BAU activities: problem solving, trouble shooting, issue management, communication, etc. with the business.

Job Requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Deep desk- and product-specific knowledge, including prior experience working on a trading desk or in a complementary role.
  • Strong knowledge of TDS products across the front office and TDS systems across our infrastructure teams, including governance practices and policies, new product processes and change management.
  • A proactive, energetic, and entrepreneurial work style with a deep desire to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to operate and excel in a constantly changing environment and to effectively manage numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical thinking with ability to consume large amounts of data, analyze trends, communicate useful insights, and propose recommendations.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, relationship building, consulting, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  • Experience building businesses and managing relationships with demonstrated ability to catalyze change through positive influence.
  • Comfortable working both independently and in a collaborative environment; manage multiple priorities and ensure completion of deliverables in timely fashion.
  • Analytical and capable of presenting and interpreting information to support your decision making; ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data effectively for delivery to management.
  • Experience in navigating complex projects in a large organization including technology innovation or regulatory with ability to communicate impact / influence and collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups.
