Job Description:

Our Technology strategy is transforming the face of our technology teams, our ITSS shared services capabilities, and the experience of our customers and colleagues. As we accelerate our journey to the Cloud, build Enterprise level Platforms, and transition to the Next Evolution of Work (NEW), we will require a significantly strengthened focus on third party solutions that fit with our target state. Our ability to enable a more strategic approach to engaging third parties, in lock-step with our business strategy, and in collaboration with our SSG and TPRM colleagues, will serve as a critical enabler to unlocking business value.

ITSS Vendor Management organization is mandated to:

  • Deliver a portfolio aligned vendor management support model for our CIO's and business leaders

  • Introduce a dedicated focus on managing relationships, and optimizing value with our strategic Enterprise Technology vendors, who have relationships across multiple CIO's and ITSS business leaders

  • Support enablement of our NEW operating model, through integrated business/technology coverage of common vendors

  • Enable strengthened focus on operational oversight, third party governance, and value delivered for our broader list of 'business critical' vendors

  • Drive accelerated focus on vendor management process transformation and capability build, including pursuit of transformational 3rd party strategies to drive vendor consolidation, and a shift to next generation managed services models

We leverage industry standards, TD Best Practices, Risk and Compliancy Frameworks as well as Expense Policies to apply appropriate Governance to our portfolio of vendors. Our accountabilities include Spend Governance, Supplier Risk Management, Vendor Strategy and Traditional Vendor Management. Our team is comprised of seasoned, vendor management experts aligned to CIOs.

About this role:

Under the leadership of AVP for Strategic Technology Vendors and Enterprise Technology, Strategic ITS Vendor Portfolio team will bring a 'One-TD' approach to our strategic Enterprise Technology vendors (IBM, Kyndryl, Cisco, Dell and Bell), who have relationships across multiple CIO's and business leader portfolios.

Reporting to the Senior Vendor Manager for Strategic ITS Vendor Portfolio (SIVP), the successful candidate will drive best in class vendor management and governance through all stages of the agreement lifecycle, in alignment with relevant TD frameworks/methodologies and in support of business and enterprise objectives, with a focus on:

  • Support Day 2 Governance Model for enterprise software licensing relationships

    • IBM Sapphire ELA with over $50MM annual run rate and encompassing mainframe, middleware and business application software across the enterprise

    • RedHat ELA to license Linux OS, JBOSS middleware

    • VMWare ELA to support TD's private cloud strategy

    • Coordinate pipeline reporting for ITS and VMO Leadership

    • Day 2 Compliance as per VMCoE Policy/Handbook

    • Future managed service engagements as applicable

  • Working closely with IBM EVM to support the overall IBM governance model

  • Manage BAU day-to-day activities and governance processes (e.g. ITSS VMO SP, ITS PIC, Ariba/SSG etc) as per the Vendor Management Policy and Handbook

  • Drive vendor negotiation for the ITS business owner in collaboration with Strategic Sourcing and various other internal partners

  • Provide VM support for business partners to develop business cases and deliver contract renewal execution / special projects to optimize ITS vendor spend

  • Support ongoing financial management via Ariba/Shopwise for the assigned contracts including end-to-end process to support vendor invoice validation and payment

  • Liaise with internal business partners and stakeholders to align vendor performance to TD's business objectives and priorities

  • Manage vendor performance scorecard, dashboard reporting and governance meeting presentation material targeted for the senior executive audience

  • Problem & issue management; escalation within vendor governance models

  • Drive continuous improvement independently with minimal supervision

  • Liaise with audit/compliance partners to maintain or reduce ITS's risk posture through Supplier Risk Management practices

  • Lead partnership with SSG/TPRM, TRMIS/3PCRM, Audit, Compliance and other risk stakeholder

Education/Accreditations:

College / University with emphasis on engineering or finance disciplines, and/or equivalent work experiences.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in communicating and reporting with executive audience (e.g. VP-level & above executives) – MUST HAVE

  • Prior vendor management or equivalent experiences

  • Broad experience in IT infrastructure and service delivery

  • Prior cost reduction experience in an IT environment

  • Demonstrated vendor negotiation and influence skills

  • Passionate for technology, understands market / industry trends and issues for IT infrastructure

  • Prior exposures to IaaS, PaaS or SaaS services a definite asset

  • Ability to develop commercially beneficial relationships with vendors

  • Proven ability to collaborate across a large organization to effectively realize outcomes

  • History of making an impact, developing and executing on strategies and delivering superior results in both the short and long term

  • Strong influence and persuasion skills – gets people to change position or course of action through conversations and debate
