Rothesay is seeking a Registered Professional Planner to oversee the planning and development functions for the town. The successful applicant will lead a variety of functional areas including development control, building inspection, bylaw enforcement and planning. They will be experienced in tasks such as interpreting legislation, drafting development agreements, and negotiating contracts.
The Director of Development Services will be a member of the town's senior management team and represent the municipality in several capacities. They will require at least 5 years supervisory experience, preferably in a local government setting, well-developed written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to adapt to emerging issues with flexibility and creativity. The Director of Development Services will have the ability to inspire and motivate a team, make strategic decisions, and effectively manage projects while promoting a positive, and collaborative work environment. Experience dealing with the public would be advantageous.
