The Department of Justice and Public Safety is dedicated to the rule of law, the promotion of the public interest, and the impartial administration of justice and works to improve the safety, security and resiliency of communities and citizens.
The Police Information Management / Information Technology Sharing (PIMITS) unit, supports the network and applications/services that enable the municipal and regional police forces in New Brunswick, government departments (namely Justice and Public Safety and units within Service New Brunswick and Transportation and Infrastructure) and other organizations (such as municipalities) to communicate, collaborate, and coordinate activities with each other, and with Federal policing authorities and agencies. There are 21 different entities that are supported by the PIMITS program. PIMITS program also supports a specialized, highly secure network that operates independently from GNB networks and systems.
PIMITS is governed by a Board of Governors that consists of representatives of each of the nine municipal law enforcement agencies, senior Justice and Public Safety staff, RCMP representatives and JPS Inspection and Enforcement.
What you will do
The PIMITS Program Manager is a senior strategist, technical specialist, and program/project manager. This position facilitates collaboration amongst between various policing agencies and law enforcement organizations in NB and introduces technology solutions to cost-effectively enhance the sharing of information, leading to a safer New Brunswick. The position is responsible for establishing the strategic direction for the network and the applications/services and technology solutions ; preparing an annual budget and obtaining approval from the Board of Governors; directing all technical/system work required to maintain and enhance the system as well as respond to emergent issues; managing the security and performance of the network including the connections to all users (the RCMP and federal agencies as well as users within NB); establishing standards, policies, and procedures; providing direction, advice and support to the personnel providing IT services within the various user groups who are connected to the PIMITS; and managing relationships with vendors and suppliers. This role also supports project management of key initiatives.

- Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 36.25 hours per week

Need to have (their essential skills and qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and
- at least Ten (10) years of progressive experience in the IT/IM industry, and minimum of six (6) years experience in IT related information technology management or IT project management, and
- a minimum of four (4) years experience in supervisory capacity.
OR
- Two (2) year diploma in Information Technology or related discipline and
- at least Twelve (12) years of progressive experience in the IT/IM industry with a minimum of six (6) years experience in IT related information technology management or IT project management, and
- a minimum of four (4) years experience in supervisory capacity.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Operational Requirements: The following operational requirements are also required:
- Must be able to travel throughout the province when required.
- Working some evenings and weekends may be required.
- As a condition of employment, the successful applicant will be required to obtain a security clearance at the level of SECRET, in accordance with the Government of New Brunswick and the Federal Government of Canada policies.
Nice to Have (their asset qualifications)
- Preference may be given to candidates who have PMP or PRINCE2 Certification, Six Sigma Certification, and demonstrable experience in the planning and control of projects (multi-project management, management of major and complex projects).
- Experience providing client training and support.
- Experience providing technical operations.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Operating system familiarity: Windows and Linux
- Relational databases such as SQL Server, PostGres and SQL scripting.
- Experience with networking, physical, and virtual servers.
- Certifications in technology and/or security (e.g. CompTIA, Microsoft and Cisco).
- Experience with Versadex Record Management Systems (RMS) and/or Versadex CAD (Computer aided Dispatch) and/or Versaterm interfaces.
- Experience with IBM Websphere.
- Experience with Entrust Datacard.
- Experience with Trellix e-Policy Orchestrator.
- Experience with Idemia Livescan software/hardware.

Wage
$3,480.00 ¿ $4,211.00 biweekly (Pay Band 7)
