Who We Are
The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) division of Finance and Treasury Board has an opportunity for an Enterprise Strategist to work in support of digital transformation projects outlined in GNBâ??s released Digital NB strategy. What You Will Do
The position responsibilities include:
- Offer leadership, insight, and direction to various stakeholders.
- Share information, promote industry best practices, and ensues alignment across GNB from a policy, strategy, governance, and architecture perspective.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and direction for the development of strategic frameworks, policies, procedures, and standards (across the GNB enterprise) that will minimize government technology costs, while supporting GNBâ??s desire to enable transformation.
- Analyze the technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the GNB enterprise.
- Represent GNB on numerous Federal, Provincial, and Territorial groups.
- Provide strategic advice and direction to Enterprise Architecture steering committees on the adoption and implementation of new transformational technologies that will enhance and support GNB goals and objectives.
- Promote and communicate the enterprise strategic vision to GNBâ??s IT and business leaders.
- Collaborate with Federal, Provincial, and Territorial teams, to align as appropriate and to share strategies, policy, and thought leadership.
Technical Expertise:
- Understand and explain complex technologies in order to provide high-level and in-depth subject matter expertise to the enterprise in the areas of technology, applications, data and business architectures.
- Micro-services and serverless architectures, mobile application development and cloud-based solutions such as containers.
- Monitor and report on enterprise services to ensure that the overall design and management of the enterprise technology infrastructure is reliable, aligns with information security requirements, and supports the need of GNBâ??s business.
- Act as a subject matter expert to oversee and consult on new transformational projects being driven from the Digital NB strategy â?? offering advice from architecture, design, acquisition through to implementation.
- Participate with a team of strategists from OCIO and across GNB, to approve, prioritize, and direct technology procurement requests as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems.
â??Must Haveâ? QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess:
A bachelorâ??s degree in computer science or a related field of study with a minimum of six years of progressive work IT experience including:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience at an operational level â?? dealing with applications, technology, data,
- Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in the design, architecture, or management of applications, technology, or data architectures.
- Experience with dealing with stakeholders from a requirement gathering, project management, change management, management, or governance perspective.
OR
A 2-year college diploma in Computer Science (or related discipline). with a minimum of eight years of progressive work IT experience including:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience at an operational level â?? dealing with applications, technology, data,
- of 2 years of practical experience in the design, architecture, or management of applications, technology, data architectures.
- Experience with dealing with stakeholders from a requirement gathering, project management, change management, management, or governance perspective.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Must have, or be eligible for, a Canadian federal security clearance.
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

Preference may be given to candidates that possess one or more of the following asset qualifications:
- Enterprise Architecture training or certifications
- General Technical Certifications (such as MCSE, CISCO, etc.)
- Professional Certifications (ISP, COBIT, TOGAF, ITIL, etc.)
