In this role, you will :

Responsibility 1: Material Handling

  • Safely operates material handling equipment such as narrow aisle reach, sit-down counterbalance, and electric pallet trucks to transport materials around the warehouse.
  • Loads and unloads for materials from trucks.
  • Efficiently transfers items throughout the warehouse.
  • Repalletizes and consolidating stocks.
  • Performs wrapping, strapping, weighing, and measurement duties.

Responsibility 2: Warehouse and Inventory Management

  • Develops knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and Microsoft Excel software to support with warehouse and inventory management.
  • Completes regular inventory stock (cycle) counts and records results for supervisor.
  • Supports the investigation of stock discrepancies as requested.
  • Supports the rotation of stock, and ensures materials are stored and dispatched as per First-In, First-Out (FIFO) or First Expiry, First Out (FEFO) guidelines.
  • Supports monthly expiry picking from shelf and transfers to quarantine.
  • Physically receives and verifies shipments of medical and non-medical stock, including supporting quality control activities.
  • Monitors warehouse supplies and reports low stock to supervisor.

Responsibility 3: Kitting Support

  • Performs inventory location refill activities to ensure stocks are available for picking.
  • Picks materials as per picking lists and organizes items in kitting area.
  • Supports the packing of materials while ensuing diligent record keeping through the use of packing lists and inventory management software.
  • Supports with kits expiry management activities.

Responsibility 4: Maintenance and Safety

  • Follows and promotes Occupational Health and Safety processes and requirements in the warehouse during all duties.
  • Proactively flags safety concerns to supervisor.
  • Reports damages to equipment or supplies to supervisor.
  • Supports the inspection, maintenance, and record keeping of warehouse equipment, especially related to material handling (i.e., narrow-aisle reach truck, electric pallet truck, pump trucks, etc.).

Responsibility 5: Logistics Unit Support

  • Supports the development and evolution of warehouse standard operating procedures.
  • Supports additional warehouse functions as needed.

What we are looking for :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in operating a narrow aisle reach truck and supporting inventory activities in a warehouse setting.
  • Valid or previous narrow aisle reach truck and sit-down counterbalance lift truck training certification, and the ability to obtain recertification with CRC.
  • Valid first aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Warehousing certified training or equivalent is considered an asset.
  • Previous voluntary and/or work experience with Red Cross or another humanitarian organization is an asset.
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills in English required.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and works independently, including recognizing and prioritizing needs as they emerge.
  • Strong mathematical skills and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • An excellent record keeper;
  • Experience with computer applications, including web browser applications, Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization.

Working Conditions :

  • Most of the work is performed in a warehouse environment.
  • Physical demands of the position require lifting of supplies and materials up to 75lbs.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours on short notice.
