Our client, Surrette Battery Company Ltd., is looking for a Utility Worker to join their team in Springhill, NS. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the ideal candidate has the ability to work in a fast -paced environment.

A Utility Worker at Surrette Battery is a full or part-time position that duties may involve, primarily, general factory cleaning, production work, and maintenance. The position may also require a fair amount of physical labour and handling of tools, equip ment, materials as well as products up to 45kg (100lbs).

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cleaning factory and equipment, common areas
• Waste removal
• Assist in maintenance duties
• verifying condition and weights of materials and products
• cleaning work areas and equipment as well as performing other labouring and elemental activities

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Forklift experience an asset
• WHIMIS or First Aid tickets, (asset, however, training will be provided)
• Demonstrated ability to follow safe work practices and procedures
• Able to problem solve and use critical thinking and decision making skills
• Able to follow oral and written directions
• Able to function well in a team environment and to communicate clearly with others
• Being fiexible and adaptable
• Having a proactive/preventive approach
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Being punctual and reliable
• Experience in a similar environment would be a definite asset
