Demands, duties, qualifications

Job Summary The Social Assistance Worker meets with residents/families as needed; completes financial assessments and reassessment for community based subsidies; completes trust fund agreements with residents/families; performs comprehensive review of cases on a regular basis through office and long term care facility visits; assists in the collection of outstanding accounts; prepares appropriate documentation for the issue of NLPDP Card; and other related duties.

Job Demands

Constantly sitting and fine finger precision work when using a computer.
Regularly standing, walking, and driving to client visits.
Alertness and concentration required while frequently completing repetitive tasks and constant auditory/visual concentration required.

Job Qualifications
Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a Bachelor's degree in Business/Commerce with major coursework in accounting or a three year Diploma in Business Management with a focus in accounting is required.
Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with clients and others in a demanding environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of Community Services Program and accounting principles and practice.
Demonstrated strong analytical and organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
Experience in the use of spreadsheet software is required.
The use of a private vehicle is a condition of employment.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
