Reporting to the VP & Associate General Counsel, the Senior Legal Counsel position provides sophisticated advice on a broad range of third-party risk management activities, technology contracting, outsourcing and corporate law matters for the Bank.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

Knowledge of third-party risk management, non-disclosure agreements, outsourcing arrangements, licenses, cloud and SAAS agreements, consulting arrangements, technology aspects of commercial arrangements, and be willing to work on a wide variety of issues, sometimes with no precedent. You will support various client groups within the Bank and represent the Legal Department on a variety of matters including third-party risk management and contractual arrangements (including precedents, knowledge management activities and regulatory submissions, among others), including the Bank's living will/resolution plan.

The ideal candidate will be versatile, flexible and collaborative with strong analytical, written and oral communication skills and excellent judgement. The ability to give pragmatic advice, review, negotiate and draft commercial and other agreements, create precedents, processes and systems and occasionally instruct outside counsel, multi-task and take on new challenges will be essential to succeed in this role.

Qualified to practice law in Ontario or another Canadian province

At least 8-10 years of relevant experience gained at a major financial institution or law firm
