Job Description:

CUSTOMER

  • Accountable for coaching the team of practitioners' knowledge, skills and performance, building and evolving the team's capabilities, and advising practitioners on their work to ensure solutions are sound.
  • Develop and execute the strategy, tools and solutions for maturity in full stack architecture
  • Hold decision rights on Architecture-specific strategies and owns policies, roles and responsibilities within assigned Platform or Journey for the technology roadmap to ensure alignment with enterprise guidelines now and as the design evolves to meet future needs
  • Oversee and advise on the design of technology applications and/or infrastructure on high profile, complex and/or high-risk technology projects with significant impact to the organization, playing an active role in the process of developing, customizing and integrating systems
  • Generate, monitor, present and analyse relevant risk insights, costs, benefits, and risks
  • Drive continual upgrading based on an integrated perspective on existing gaps and opportunities for service / system development across the technology stacks and grounds the team in assessing practical concerns to evolve features

SHAREHOLDER

  • Ensure team adheres to enterprise frameworks and methodologies related to overall business management activities
  • Support team in staying knowledgeable on emerging issues, engineering trends and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts to the Bank
  • Ensure programs, policies and practices meet business needs, comply with internal and external requirements
  • Ensures programs/initiatives related to own area of expertise are well managed and administered; ensure the prompt and thorough resolution of issues
  • Monitor assigned functional area for productivity and efficiency, operating systems to continually improve delivery capability
  • May develop and/or contribute to negotiations of third-party contracts/agreements
  • Proactively identify key business opportunities, research and recommend enhancements / modifications, develop strategies to achieve recommendations and work closely with team to execute and implement
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of knowledge / expertise in own area and keep current with emerging industry trends, new technologies and best practices in the external market that can contribute to delivering effective customer solutions.
  • Monitor and communicate the effectiveness of strategies, programs, and practices related to own area of expertise
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional / enterprise initiatives as an organizational or subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for significant and complex situations
  • Manage intake and demand, coordinating resources as required; identify and source appropriate resources across all work streams, ensure all resources are used effectively
  • Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
  • Ensure employees are knowledgeable and assumes responsibility to minimize operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank and industry Code of Conduct
  • Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk transactions / activities as necessary
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

  • Provide people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Recognized as an expert in their field whose focus is on the coaching and training of practitioners
  • Manages and oversees the overall discipline and strategy for the respective areas while aligning to the enterprise best practices
  • People leader with expert knowledge of disciplines and practices in field of expertise
  • Strategic partner to leadership team with advanced expertise and knowledge of specific domain or broad range of TD frameworks, technology, tools, best practices, processes and procedures, as well as broader organization issues
  • Proven ability in soft skills people management
  • Provide guidance on the work of practitioners as related to the quality of product(s)/work being produced, delivered & speed of delivery / to market
  • Ability to develop colleagues to be masters of their craft in the market around us
  • Contribute to the development of coaching strategies for individuals within their area of expertise

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate (Graduate degree preferred)
  • 10+ years relevant experience developing a variety of platforms
  • Experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Pair programming and / or Test-Driven Development is an asset (i.e., ability to author Unit, Integration and Functional Tests)
  • Demonstrated experience with leading technical tools integration and teams in a complex environment
