GEMTEC is a growing consulting engineering firm with offices throughout Atlantic Canada and in Ontario. We are looking for a motivated and skilled Drafting Technician to join our Team. We currently have an opening for a fulltime Drafting Technician in our Halifax, NS office.

The successful candidate shall have the following education and experience and be able to demonstrate previous experience.

Educational & Experience Requirements:

• College diploma in Civil Engineering Technology/ Technician or related field.
• Experience working with computer assisted drafting (CAD).
• Experience working with Civil 3D and REVIT is considered an asset.
• Experience working in civil construction is considered an asset.
• Experience working on both land and marine projects is considered an asset.

Main Duties:

• Becoming part of an engineering design team; primarily civil/geotechnical and structural engineering projects.
• Completing Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D on a variety of engineering projects, including land and marine infrastructure projects.
• Developing and maintaining company-wide CAD templates and standards.
• Providing quality assurance for CAD deliverables.
• Providing drafting support to other departments within GEMTEC.
• Travel to project sites for occasional site visits.
• Performing other duties, as required.

Position:

• Full time salaried position.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
