SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST

The Department of Health is seeking an individual to join the Public Health Branch as a Senior Business Analyst. The Public Health Branch is responsible for the planning, implementation, administration, and evaluation of the NB Immunization Program, which involves the development, testing, implementation, and on-going maintenance of the Public Health Information Solution (PHIS) IT application.

As the Senior Business Analyst, you will:

  • Engage with subject matter experts to articulate PHIS business priorities and desired outcomes;
  • Develop and maintain Process/System Workflow Diagrams;
  • Assist with functional integrations and user acceptance testing;
  • Assist in the development, review, and update of deliverables, including, but not limited to:
    • Business Process Diagrams
    • Standard Operating Procedures/Practices
    • Functional Requirements
    • Training Strategies
    • Work Plans
    • Business Cases
    • Threat Risk Assessment
    • Business Impact Analysis
  • Contribute to and support the development and delivery of training;
  • Collaborate and work with other teams in the health system, including Department of Health branches, the Regional Health Authorities (RHAs), other GNB departments, and partners;
  • Provide input for best practice configuration of the PHIS solution;
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize process improvements, ensuring solutions align with business objectives;
  • Act as a resource for team members to help with daily activities;
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve business processes, review and coordinate monthly maintenance releases.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or another related discipline
  • Minimum of six (6) years of recent experience as a Business Analyst in an IT related field, or other related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of training, education and experience may be considered.
  • Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability on your application.

In the event that this competition poses difficulties in recruiting a qualified candidate, a covering off appointment at a lower level may be made. In that case, candidates with less than the required related years of experience may also be considered.

Asset Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates that possess the following asset qualifications:

  • Experience with the PHIS system, or a similar health care IT application.
  • Experience working with Health Care or Public Health systems.

Salary: $2,903 to $3,862 bi-weekly (Pay Band 6)
