The Chartered Professional Accountants of Nova Scotia (CPA Nova Scotia) is the regulatory body for Chartered Professional Accountants in Nova Scotia. We are seeking a Registration Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate is a highly organized individual with a professional approach who would enjoy interacting with the membership on a daily basis.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Regulatory Affairs and Registrar, and working out of the downtown Halifax office, you will support the registration function at CPA Nova Scotia which includes processing registration applications and renewals and performing ongoing regulatory compliance for registrants.
Responsibilities
- Process new member registration applications.
- Prepare firm name changes and process new firm registration applications.
- Process annual renewals for members and firms.
- Monitor members and firms who are not in compliance with the Chartered Professional Accountants Act or CPA Nova Scotia By-Laws and follow up accordingly.
- Maintain the accuracy of the membership database for registrants including members, candidates, students and firms.
- Respond to registrant inquiries in a timely manner.
- Provide letters of good standing and complete provincial confirmation forms upon request.
- Issue, print and mail all membership certificates to new members.
- Support the Associate Registrar in performing annual project-based compliance work as required.
- Cross train with the Associate Registrar and the Regulatory Coordinator, as required.
- Other registration and compliance support, as required
Experience and Education Requirements
- Minimum of an administrative diploma from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of three years practical administrative experience in a high volume and fast paced office environment. Experience working in a membership-based environment is considered an asset.
- Experience with database and customer relations management software is considered an asset.
- Proficient in MS Office 365, including Word and Excel, and Adobe Acrobat DC.
- Proven problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, accurately and quickly. Must be able to work for multiple persons and prioritize among competing tasks.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong oral and written communication skills that maintain a professional working tone.
