TEMPORARY OPPORTUNITY (1 YEAR)
FREDERICTON/FLEXIBLE WORK LOCATION IN NEW BRUNSWICK
The Department of Health is seeking two individuals to join the Public Health Branch as Program Advisors, reporting to the Director of Prevention and Control.
As a Program Advisor, you will use a population health framework to provide support to the provincial Planet Youth project. Specifically, you will:
- Plan, monitor, and evaluate Public Health programs and policies related to upstream prevention and youth substance use;
- Compile and analyze national and jurisdictional policies and legislative trends;
- Provide expertise in community and partner engagement, knowledge translation, policy development, and evaluation;
- Monitor project timelines and deliverables, providing regular reports and developing briefing material for senior leadership;
- Work with the Communications team to support the development of communication plans and social marketing strategies, presenting to partners and overseeing the evaluation of these initiatives;
- Support the development and implementation of related health promotion strategies;
- Provide stakeholder engagement and relationship building with internal and external partners;
- Represent Public Health on relevant provincial and national committees.

Essential Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Public Health, Nursing, Health Administration, or another health-related program and a minimum of three (3) years of related Public Health experience. OR
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Science, Health Administration, or another health-related program and a minimum of five (5) years of related Public Health experience.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- One position requires written and spoken competence in French and English. One position will require written and spoken competence in English only. Please state your language capability on your application.

In the event that this competition poses difficulties in recruiting a qualified candidate, a covering off appointment at a lower level may be made. In that case, candidates with less than the required related years of experience may also be considered.
Asset Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates that possess the following asset qualification:
- Experience related to community development, project coordination, and/or prevention of youth substance use.
Candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application the asset qualification, in addition to the essential qualifications, in order to be given further consideration.

Salary: $64,974 to $90,740 per annum (Pay Band 5)
