Job Summary
NL Health Services Urban Zone is inviting applications from General pediatricians to join the Children's Health Program in locum position for the period of May 01, 2025 until April 30, 2026.
The successful candidate will join the team of physicians providing comprehensive health care services to the patients receiving care from the Program and will be accountable to the Division Head and report to the Clinical Chief of the Child Health Program.

The general accountabilities of the position include:
- Providing service to the Division of Newborn Medicine and the Provincial Perinatal program.
- Provincial travel required to meet the Perinatal Program mandate.
- Functioning within the scope of practice of a pediatrician.
- Providing individualized direct and indirect patient care to patients within the Program.
- Providing treatments and therapies in which the incumbent had been adequately trained and supervised
Hours of Work:
For a 0.8 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) position for a GFT Memorial Physician, inpatient and outpatient work must equate to a minimum of 7 half days per week. Regular hours of work will be a minimum of 7.5 hours per day, usually between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. plus on-call obligations, which may change depending on service needs. It is recognized that clinical demand and needs may require additional efforts than the normal hours set above.
With the need to cover 5NB 7 days per week from 8-4pm, "work-days" will include weekend days. The affected "work-week" can be adjusted accordingly in discussion with the Division Head and Clinical Chief.

Qualifications
- Must hold a medical degree and have Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent) in Pediatrics (may have subspecialty training)
- BCLS and NRP are required. PALS is recommended.
- Experience with newborns, breast-feeding, and perinatal follow-up is an asset. Procedural experience with line placements is an asset or agreement to develop proficiency over time.
- Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador in the capacity of Most Responsible Physician.
