The Meter Shop team processes and manages revenue meters to meet the requirements of Measurement Canada regulations while delivering quality products to our customers. As part of the Meter Shop Team, the Meter Shop Technician is responsible for the inspections of AMI meters and meter verifications, non-conformance processing, weekly test console verifications, field audits, SAP transactions, meter receiving/shipping and inventory.
Key functions include:
- Testing and validation of all meters (new, reverified, nonconforming) and associated SAP transactions
- Weekly Test Console verification
- Responsible for inventory, shipping and receiving
The ideal teammate will have one of the following:
- Electrical & Electronics Engineering Technician Diploma
- Electronics Engineering Technology Diploma
- Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma
Along with the following:
- Two years of relevant experience in an Electronic/Instrumentation field
AND
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a good driving record
The successful candidate will be enrolled into the Power Meter course and will be required to achieve a 70% passing grade.

- Be able to meet schedules and deadlines
- Be able to record and process detailed information with accuracy
- Be a continuous learner and focus on continuous improvement
An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
