Job Summary

NL Health Services Eastern Urban Zone is inviting applications for an Intensive Care Physician to provide service to the medical surgical ICU at the Health Sciences Centre, the St. Clare's Hospital and the Cardiovascular Surgery Unit at the Health Sciences Centre. Our Intensive Care Units provide tertiary services to the entire province and the French Islands of St. Pierre and Miquelon.

The successful candidate will provide care for 14-18 weeks per year as part of a multidisciplinary team. Each week comprises of 7 days and 4 nights rotating between units. Skills in mechanical circulatory support, transesophageal echocardiography, point-of-care ultrasound, percutaneous tracheostomy and interest in research and medical education are an asset.

Required Qualifications

• Certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Adult Critical Care Medicine
• All applicants must be eligible for licensure to practice by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of NL.
• Satisfy credentialing requirements of Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.

Remuneration:

The remuneration is via an Alternate Payment Plan (APP) based on an hourly rate for 12 hours.
