The Parent Navigator assists in navigating students and their families to access services and resources in the school and the community. The Parent Navigator works collaboratively with other school and agency staff to ensure that the student and/or their family have timely support to understand the appropriate services available, and the processes by which to access them. Working collaboratively within a team environment, the Parent Navigator reports directly to the Communications Officer.
Qualifications
a) Completion of a post-secondary diploma or certificate such as a human services, social services or education or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience;
b) Minimum of two (2) years of successful experience working in an educational setting;
c) Broad knowledge of the Nova Scotia public school system and community resources through partnership affiliations and/or work experience;
d) Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle;
e) Fluency in additional language(s) considered an asset.
Start Date: Dec 16, 2024
Salary: This is a Professional Employees Group (PEG) position classified on the Education Entities Non-Union Compensation Framework at Band 4 with an annual range between $ 46,531 to $ 58,164 .
