We are pleased to be partnering with MetOcean in the recruitment of a Financial Analyst, Margin to join their organization in their Dartmouth, NS office. This role is starting out as a contract position for a 6-12 month time period.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the successful candidate will be involved in conducting in-depth analysis, driving insights from large sets of data and providing recommendations on areas of risk or improvements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Analyze contracts and develop data models to consolidate large data sets from multiple sources
• Create and maintain complex financial data models and dashboards
• Prepare reports and analyses to communicate financial results
• Build and maintain gross margin models by revenue stream and customer
• Identify opportunities to automate financial reporting and analysis
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives and ad hoc projects to provide financial analysis for decision support

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Bachelor's degree, or working towards, with a focus in Finance, Business, Accounting, or IT
• Excellent team player, as well as the ability to work independently
• Effective communication skills (written & verbal)
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP, or other ERP systems, preferred but not required
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to evaluate effective solutions
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Propensity to integrate information from a variety of sources with varied levels of complexity
• Strong attention to detail and demonstrate a capacity to adapt to change quickly
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office 365 suite of applications
