Service New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Managed Print and Distribution Branch as a Bindery Operator in Fredericton.

As a member of the Managed Print and Distribution team, you will be responsible for the day to day bindery work. Reporting to the Print Services Supervisor, key responsibilities of this position are:

  • Planning and organizing your work area
  • Enforcing strict quality assurance standards
  • Tracking completed print jobs
  • Packaging and preparing print jobs for delivery
  • Operating, maintaining and troubleshooting bindery equipment: Ability to use and maintain an industrial cutter, a multi hole punch, an industrial booklet maker, a laminator, etc.)
  • Maintaining a high degree of customer care standards
  • Handling/securing personal and confidential information
  • Ensuring supplies meet SNB operational requirements and are on hand as needed
  • Monitoring and reporting on quality print related issues
  • Finding efficiencies
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area
  • Working with a team to manage and process print related work
  • Printing B&W documents on digital print engines

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Work at this level requires education gained through high school or GED, supplemented by post-secondary education typically a one (1) year program plus a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Some supervisory experience may be required.

Written and spoken competence in English & French is required.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate they have training or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Considerable front-line experience working in the service industry
  • Training/experience using print software technology such as Adobe, Fiery and Digital Store Front

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position may require some travelling within the province therefore candidates must possess a valid New Brunswick driverâ??s license.
  • Some weekday evenings and weekend work hours may be required.
  • Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to and including 65 lbs.
