Who we are:
The Department of Natural Resources and Energy Development (DNRED) is seeking two experienced Chartered Professional Accounts (CPA) to join the Financial Services Branch within the Corporate Services Division as managers. The Financial Services Branch provides a range of financial and support services to DNRED and to the Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries (DAAF). DNRED's mandate is to support, manage, and protect the forests, fish, and wildlife of New Brunswick, and to develop and manage the province's energy and mineral resources. DAAF's mandate is to develop and implement a total development approach for the agriculture, aquaculture, fisheries, and value-added sectors, aimed at improving the economic competitiveness and responsible development of these sectors and related industries.
Located in Fredericton and reporting to the Director of Financial Services, these managers will play an important role in delivering accurate and timely financial and general support to DNRED and DAAF.
What you will do:
Budget and Reporting Manager responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Coordinating the annual budget, quarterly reporting and monthly forecasting processes by collaborating with budget owners within assigned divisions.
- Leading a team of financial analysts who support budget owners with forecast monitoring, variance analysis, and recommending actions to maintain budgetary controls.
- Building relationships and establishing trust with the assigned divisions to provide client service and financial support.
- Participating as a member of the financial analyst team by contributing to team problem solving, information sharing, improving processes, and learning.
- Leading the budget and forecast related transition to our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Accounting Manager responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Coordinating the monthly accounts receivable process and reporting.
- Leading a team of administrative professionals supporting accounts receivable, employees' system access and telecommunications needs of the departments.
- Building relationships and establishing trust with the assigned divisions to provide client service and financial support.
- Leading the procurement and accounts receivable related transition to our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Coordinating the year end processes and reporting needs.
- Other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- University degree in Business Administration, Commerce or Accounting and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation recognized by CPA New Brunswick.
- A minimum of six (6) years of progressively more responsible related work experience.
- A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Asset Qualifications:
- Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate one or more of the following:
- Experience in a financial setting within Government.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion.
- Consideration may be given to candidates who are currently enrolled in the CPA program.

SALARY: $75,478 to $100,412 per annum
