We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Global Asset Financing Specialist to join our growing Finance team in Saint John, NB. The Specialist will play a key role in analyzing, securing and managing financing alternatives for major Capital asset acquisitions for Cooke and its global affiliate companies, ensuring timely provision of financing, asset acquisition and cash flow management arising from the approved capital spend of the relevant business unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Asset Finance/Lease Management: Interpret and analyze asset finance alternatives including loan and lease agreements for equipment and assets, ensuring all financing is secured on time to permit asset acquisition in accordance with budget and business unit timelines.
  • Annual Planning: Oversee the annual planning process for asset acquisition funding, including monitoring and recording to maintain compliance with credit facilities and funding that meets business unit requirements.
  • Documentation: Manage amendments, renewals, and supporting documentation for all asset specific loans/leases, including property, vehicles, vessels, assets, and equipment.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Identify and communicate any discrepancies, raising questions or concerns as needed to ensure clarity and compliance.
  • Vendor Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, providing ongoing support to global leaders.
  • Data Organization: Maintain a detailed and organized system for loan/lease agreements, ensuring all data is complete and accurate.
  • Financial Recommendations: Analyze loan/lease agreements to make financially advantageous recommendations for annual funding across all entities.
  • Structuring: Liaise with partner financial institutions to develop optimal, fit-for-purpose loan/leasing structures in line with target corporate strategy for capital optimization
  • Collaboration and Reporting: Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively with executive leadership. Provide periodic reports on the leasing portfolio and arrangements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or applicable experience
  • Strong financial analysis skills and experience in lease financing.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and projects.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing lease agreements across multiple entities.
  • Proficiency in relevant financial software and tools.
