The Role

Reporting to the Manager of Community Recreation Programs, the Recreation Supervisor - Recreation is responsible for the development, coordination, facilitation and promotion of quality leisure, recreation, wellness and life skills programming and opportunities pertinent to the needs of children, youth and adults. The Supervisor also maintains communication with children and youth in the community.

Also provides day to day leadership and direction over the City operated recreation facilities: is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of facilities during the shift including scheduling, maintenance of recreation equipment, operations and fitness; monitors user groups in the facility; maintains proper schedules; and recommends operational opportunities for future development.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Recreation, Social Sciences or related area; supplemented by three to five years of leadership experience working with youth and in recreation/sport/community environments; or an equivalent combination of education or experience as determined by assessment.
