We are searching for a PRODUCTION PANNER to join our PRODUCTION KITCHEN team based in HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA.

About the Opportunity
- Monitors tempering product to ensure items are available for next day's panning. Follows all guidelines regarding product handling as per Panning and Portion Protocol document.
- Compiles tally sheet for next day's panning functions.
- Monitors food products to ensure highest quality provided to resident. Reports quality issues to supervisor.
- Prepares food in appropriate pans in prescribed manner to ensure optimal rethermalization quality.
- Numbers texture modified foods using the label gun in accordance to the numbers indicated on the panning sheets.
- Assists Transport Workers as required to load distribution carts on to the truck.
- Assists Utility Workers as required to clean and sanitize bins and pans.
- Removes empty boxes, containers and bread racks from panning room and recycles as appropriate. Cleans and sanitizes panning station daily.
- Stacks dirty dishes appropriately for utility in the designated area, including removal of plastic wrap or paper labels from bins and pans.
- Follows safety, environmental and infection control practices as per facility policies
- Working in a refridgerated area
• All other duties as assigned
About You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
• A high-school diploma or GED
• Ability to work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to provide a clear criminal record check upon hire
• CPR & Emergency First Aid Certification and/or Basics Food Safety Training/ Food Handler's Course would be considered an asset
• Previous experience working with seniors in a Retirement Living or Long-Term Care environment would be considered an asset
