Horizon Health Network in beautiful New Brunswick is looking for a Regional Director Nursing Mentorship and Collaborative Practice to join our team!
The Regional Director of Nursing Mentorship and Collaborative Practice is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing nursing mentorship programs and collaborative practices across multiple facilities and programs within the region. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) the role focuses on enhancing nursing competencies promoting professional development and fostering a culture of collaboration among nursing staff and a diverse range of healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care. The regional scope of this role requires the development of strong collaborative relationships with senior clinical and medical leaders, provincial stakeholders including professional associations, nursing union and educational partners.

Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing or a comparable graduate level degree
- Registered Nurse with current or eligible for registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick
- A minimum of 5 years of nursing clinical practice experience
- Progressive leadership experience in a health care environment
- Commitment to patient-focused, action-oriented environment
- Proven ability to foster teamwork and collaboration
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate data and performance standards
- Good working knowledge of MS Office
- Written and spoken competence in English, bilingual abilities will be considered an asset
- Willing and able to travel throughout the province
- Must have a valid New Brunswick Driver's License
- Ability to attend work on a regular basis
- Ability to perform the duties of the position

Key Responsibilities
- Leading, Planning and Organizing: As the leader of Horizon's mentorship program, you will spearhead the ongoing development and implementation of a comprehensive inititiave that integrates all new nursing hires, including Patient Care Attendants, Undergraduate Nursing Students, Internationally Educated Nurses, Graduate Nurses, Graduate Practical Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and experienced nursing professionals. Your leadership will extend to reviewing Horizon's Collaborative Care Model to determine the optimal team composition and staffing requirements across Horizon nursing areas.
- Mentorship Strategy: Drive the ongoing development and execution of Horizon's Mentorship Strategy, ensuring alignment with Horizon Health Network's strategic plan and corporate goals. Lead the evaluation, enhancement, and implementation of Horizon's Collaborative Care Model and regional guidelines, ensuring best practices are upheld.
- Recruitment and Retention: Collaborate with the Department of Human Resources Talent Acquistion team to develop, implement, and evaluate shared recruitment and retention initiatives that support nursing staff.
- Onboarding and Integration: Partner and support directors, managers, and healthcare teams to create effective onboarding and integration strategies for all new nursing hires.
- Model Review and Enhancement: Assess Horizon's Collaborative Model of Care to identify necessary adjustments that reflect evolving practice environments.
- Program Delivery: Ensure that all programming aligns with Provinicial Health priorities and supports Horizon's strategic directives, mission, vision, and values.
- Partnership and Networking: Support the CNO in maintaining and cultivating collaborative relationships with both internal and external partners through active participation and communication in committees, forums, and working groups related to key areas of responsibilities (i.e., relationship building,diversity, equity and inclusion, community integration, liaison).
- Evaluation and Quality: Drive quality and improvements essential for maintaining relevance in a dynamic environment through robust evaluation processes (i.e., data evaluation, collaborative care model assessment, performance monitoring).
