The Department of Social Development is seeking an individual to join the Administrative Services Team as an Administrative Support in the Fredericton office of the Central Zone.

As a member of the Administrative Services team, the successful candidate will be responsible to provide a variety of administrative support services to the general public and all levels of staff within the office. Responsibilities may include:

  • Providing general information, responding to a wide range of routine and complex telephone inquiries and/or walk-in clients,
  • Evaluating inquiries,
  • Directing clients and/or the general public to the appropriate employee or resource,
  • Filing, scanning, and performing data entry,
  • Handling of incoming and outgoing mail,
  • Receiving payments and cash handling,
  • Preparation of legal and other correspondence
  • Maintaining a supplies inventory,
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or GED supplemented by successful completion of a one (1) year post-secondary diploma in Secretarial or Office Administration or other completed post-secondary education in a related field and a minimum of three (3) years related administrative work experience. OR High School Diploma supplemented by completion of at least a two (2) year related post-secondary program and a minimum of two (2) years related administrative work experience. OR High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of four (4) years related administrative work experience.

Spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate experience in one or more of the following asset qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in an office setting;

Salary: $42,250 to $51,246 per annum
