The Logistics Support position is a key part of a team that provides a well-maintained, safe, effective and efficient logistical status of operations They are accountable to exercise "highest standards of cleanliness available" in the industry. The Employee expected to conduct themselves in a safe and prudent manner.
The Employee is responsible to ensure all logistics pertaining to inventory, ambulances and support units are safe, effective, maintained, cleaned and stocked in accordance with policies and procedures as stated by Medavie. This is a key position in the Medavie Health Services West team providing inventory coordination and monitoring of medical consumables and equipment. The Logistics Support position will provide shipping and receiving support; as well as support the scheduling and logistics of the preventative maintenance of medical and operational equipment as required.

Roles & Responsibilites
- Maintaining and ensuring proper documentin for all MHSW logistical accountability;
- Ensuring scheduled work is completed in an acceptable and timely manner;
- Managing all incoming shipments and ship out orders to various stations across the Province;
- Maintaining an accurate asset inventory by completing counts and reports as required;
- Compiling with MHSW policies and procedures for picking supplies, equipment and assets;
- Routinely requesting stock and proactively requesting replacement stock before supplies are diminished. Ensures all MHSW supply stations are kept stocked as per established maximum inventory supply levels;
- Facilitating the shipping and receiving of goods and materials for domestic and international destinations with vendors;
- Supporting the logistics of delivering equipment and supplies to MHSW stations;
- Operate all vehicles in accordance with all policies of Medavie;
- Compile a list of all mechanical, medical and cleaning parts and supplies as required;
- Ensure all ambulances based out of the Fleet centers are stocked;
- Complete drop-off and pick-ups of out-sourced ambulances and support units;
- Conduct all cleaning and decontamination required to the vehicle interior or exterior in accordance with proper policies and stocking per company standards;
- Conduct reasonable on-going cleanliness of ambulance bay during scheduled shift and at least once a week clean the center completely;
- Fog units with equipment that destroys all biological pathogens when required
Education/ Experience
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent education;
- Two three years of related experience and excellent working knowledge of inventory control processes, vehicle detailing and preventive maintenance programs;
- Completed courses in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), and other courses related to ambulance manufacturing, repair, inventory control and cleaning or are willing to obtain;
- Experience using ITACIT is an asset;
- Valid Class 4 driver's licence
Knowledge / Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude, initiative and good judgment;
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
- Competent computer skills with experience with software such as MS Excel and MS Outlook;
- General knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures as well as accounting systems;
- Flexible and be available to work when required;
- Physically able complete assigned tasks with little or no supervision.
- Able to report to work in the event of a major incident in accordance with the Medavie Saskatoon Plan;
- Good interpersonal skills in dealing with people;
- Organization; and
- Takes initiative and is able to work with or without direct supervision
